December is when the cold weather really sets in. Are you ready for this season's outerwear? DESCENTE is becoming increasingly active with its world-renowned Mizusawa Down, a high-spec downwear brand. This time, we'll be comparing DESCENTE's best women's outerwear. It's not too late to make your final winter outerwear decision.

A trendy "short length" down jacket

The most distinctive feature of the Mizusawa Down from DESCENTE, a brand with origins in skiwear, is that the down pack is formed using a heat-pressing process rather than sewing. This not only prevents water from seeping in through seams and feather leakage, a common issue with down, but also improves heat retention, making the Mizusawa Down a highly functional down jacket. The first piece is the Camellia, characterized by its short length and large hood. While the length is short, the generous width and sleeves create a rounded, three-dimensional silhouette. When the hood is buttoned all the way up, it wraps around the neck, providing greater warmth and wind protection.

The voluminous hood keeps your neck warm, which can be a concern when it gets cold.

Another feature of Mizusawa Down is the hand warmer pockets with waterproof zippers.

When it comes to Mizusawa Down Jackets, the first thing that comes to mind is this classic.

Mizusawa Down introduces new models and colors almost every season, and the classic is the MOUNTAINEER. For the second jacket, I tried on the MOUNTAINEER-L, which has been finely tuned for women. The MOUNTAINEER, with the body and hood integrated, is equipped with a parahood system that prevents rain and snow from getting in when the hood is not in use. In addition, mesh material is used in the front zipper, allowing heat and moisture that tend to build up inside the jacket to escape. The front zipper is a double-row zipper, so when the outer zipper is closed, the mesh fabric is hidden inside, creating "dual zip ventilation."

The mesh material placed on the front zipper allows heat and moisture to escape by closing the zipper on the right side of the mesh material.

There are also zippers under both sides, so when you want to ventilate the garment, you can open them and let in outside air through the inner mesh.

The Parahood system prevents rain and snow from getting in through the neck when the hood is not being worn. The hood can be worn by fully opening the zipper on the back of the neck.

Half-coat type that wraps around the waist

Our third and final piece is the "ANCHOR-HC (Anchor Half Coat)." The "ANCHOR-HC" is a women's-only half coat version of the original "ANCHOR," a long-selling model. The down wraps around your waist, where it's most susceptible to the cold, ensuring warmth. Like the "MOUNTAINEER-L," it features dual zip ventilation and underarm zippers, allowing for versatile temperature regulation inside the garment. The detachable hood can be easily removed. You can enjoy two different styles to suit your outfit and the temperature of the day. Available in two colors: black (as shown in the photo) and white beige.

If you want a cleaner look around your neck, you can remove the hood.

If you button the hood all the way up, it will act like a scarf and keep your neck warm.
