The fruit daifuku specialty shop, Benten, has reopened as a collaborative store with To, Mochi. While retaining the charm of fruit daifuku that boldly uses whole seasonal fruits, it now also has the face of a mochi specialty shop where you can enjoy the charm of Japanese food culture, "mochi," in a variety of ways and casually. Don't forget to check out Benten To, Mochi, which will expand your repertoire of everyday souvenirs!

A new brand, "To, Mochi," proposes a wide range of ways to enjoy mochi.

Benzaiten, which quickly became a famous fruit daifuku shop, has been renovated as a collaborative store with the new brand "To, Mochi". Fruit daifuku, as well as Benzaiten's signature items such as "Jari Mochi" and "Wappa Mochi", are still available. Furthermore, the product lineup created by "To, Mochi" has been added, transforming it into a Japanese confectionery shop that can be used in a variety of situations. As the name suggests, "To, Mochi" is a specialty store for mochi. The store is lined with mochi products that greatly expand the possibilities of mochi, a familiar part of Japanese food culture. First, you should pay attention to "To, Mochi's Oni Manju". Oni Manju is actually considered one of Nagoya's specialties, and "To, Mochi" has reinterpreted it in their own way, creating an Oni Manju that you can "taste with mochi" by combining sweet potato and mochi in the bean paste and topping it with red bean paste made from Beni Haruka and tiger beans. The result is an Oni Manju with a simple taste that evokes a sense of nostalgia.

The large glass display case, filled with a wide array of products, is impressive. The familiar lineup of products from Benzaiten has been enhanced with the addition of mochi (rice cake) items, doubling its appeal.

A new Nagoya specialty has been born?! Get ready for "Nama An Butter Mochi"!

Next, what catches the eye is the "Inari Mochi," which looks just like "Inari-san." The "Inari Mochi" is made by coating mochi with fragrant bonito flakes and wrapping it in fried tofu, resulting in a light and refreshing taste with a hint of dashi broth. Furthermore, there's also "Hatcho Miso Inari Mochi," a Nagoya specialty featuring Hatcho miso. You'll really appreciate the excellent combination of mochi and fried tofu! And then there's the "Nama An Butter Mochi," which feels like it could become a new Nagoya specialty. This ingenious mochi confection uses a thin dorayaki pancake as a base, sandwiching smooth red bean paste from a long-established bean paste shop and salty butter, then wrapping the surface in gyuhi (a type of mochi). The dorayaki base adds a sense of unity, and the sweetness of the dorayaki dough provides a nice accent. It makes you feel the new possibilities of red bean paste and butter. There are plenty of products available that are perfect as everyday gifts, as well as products that truly convey the essence of Nagoya.[Benzaiten and mochi (rice cakes)]Add it to your list of suitable gifts.
