Art candy specialty store Papabubble has started handling baumkuchen and baked goods from Konditorei Bachmann, a long-established Western confectionery store in Hiratsuka, Shonan. This is due to Papabubble's desire to spread the love of sweets in Japan to a wider audience and for a longer period of time. Starting with the simple baumkuchen that can be enjoyed as an everyday treat, they also have a selection of other stylish baked goods that are perfect for snacks.

Konditorei Bachmann inherited the name of a famous pastry shop in Lucerne, Switzerland.

this time,[Papabubble]The baked goods, including Baumkuchen, that we have started to carry are from the Western confectionery shop "Conditorei Bachmann" in Shonan, Hiratsuka. The main store, which is also the only sister store in Japan and takes the name of a Western confectionery shop in Lucerne, Switzerland, was founded in1976In 1990, the first owner and chef traveled to Europe alone, hoping to have people in Japan taste the same sweets sold there. He brought back recipes to recreate the taste of Europe, and the shop continues to carry on those recipes and the founder's passion for sweets. Among the many products, the "Baumkuchen" has a strong following, with a strong flavor of cinnamon and other spices.10Its most distinctive feature is the aroma of more than 100 kinds of spices. It is baked in a "mountain-shaped" oven made by the German company Schlee, in the Dresden style. It is difficult to adjust the heat to bake it in this shape, and it requires the skill of a skilled craftsman,1It takes about 10 minutes to bake a book.2Time. A hearty, satisfying baumkuchen packed with delicious flavors is made through the painstaking process of twisting the dough around the center to create layers.

"Dresden Baumkuchen" (1 layer 1,890 yen). It has a firm texture and a refreshing aftertaste, thanks to the pleasant aroma of spices. You'll naturally reach for the next slice.

The surface of the spicy dough is covered with a slightly sweet fondant (coated with sugar). Its simple appearance gives it the feel of a traditional European pastry.

This Baumkuchen is perfect for adults and goes well with coffee, tea, and even wine.
